Fear #1: The Barren Womb

This Sculpture is a wall piece made of Bronze and is the first piece in Michele Tocco's Fear Series.

After many years of planning our future and waiting for the next large step in our lives, we are finally about a year away from starting a family. A fear has crept up on me in the meantime of the uncontrollable possibility that I may not be able to have a child. There is no evidence to support this fear; it is completely baseless. While working on this piece I have been able to reduce this fear to a more manageable size. It is now a physical manifestation that I can look at and laugh away.

Fear #2: Fill-me Up

This Sculpture is a wall piece made of Bronze, Wood, and Steel and is the second piece in Michele Tocco's Fear Series.

After many years of plenty my husband has gained much weight, eats junk and exercises little. This has brought about my fear of him dying from obesity and heart disease at a young age. Naturally I can't picture a full, happy life without him and am horrified that our (nonexistent) children might lose their father too soon. It is with this piece that I hope to bring that fear into a physical manifestation that we can look upon as a reminder to change our lifestyles.

Fear #3: The Mask

This Sculpture has not been completed. In the near future I hope to have a picture of the one part that has been completed. It is a bronze, three-headed lizard with slick appearing skin. Currently it is still in California and not available for pictures.

This sculpture is meant to show an evil that is hiding behind a mask of seeming innocence. It's final execution is not yet decided.
