Flatware

This place setting of flatware was created using aluminum, stainless steel, acrylic, and sterling silver. Aluminum tube was anodized to create the vibrant blue color, the ends of the shafts were acrylic rod turned on the lathe and tapped on one end to allow the silver heads to be screwed on. The silver fork and spoon were forged to create the domed shape; while the knife is made of stainless steel, cut and sharpened. Silver square tubing creates support for the stand at either end, housing for the shafts, and lifts the piece off the table surface. The acrylic sheet has 3 holes placed in the top piece to provide housing for the flatware heads.

Tear Drop Pin

This pin has 2 amethysts dripping from the eye. The eye uses a piece of mokume as the pupil in a bed of silver with the surrounding upper and lower eyelids made of copper. This piece is a tribute to my constant sadness at being apart from my husband during this time.
